Description
Olga Podolskaya, a Muscovite, arrives in the remote Belarusian countryside to visit her father, Professor Podolsky, only to discover he's vanished. Meanwhile, hunters stumble upon the mutilated corpse of a local poacher deep in the woods. The police are baffled, unable to determine if the killer was beast or man. Adding to the investigation is Kharchenko, the hunting lodge manager and an old acquaintance of Olga's father. Lieutenant Kachura, meanwhile, lends a hand to Olga, though it's more a matter of professional obligation than personal interest.
