Description
Muscovite Olga Podolskaya travels to a remote Belarusian village to visit her father, who is on vacation, only to discover that he has gone missing. Meanwhile, hunters in the forest find the mutilated body of a local poacher. The police struggle to determine whether the killer is a beast or a human. Assisting in the investigation is Kharchenko, the manager of the hunting lodge and an old acquaintance of Olga’s father. At the same time, Olga is pursued by criminals demanding some mysterious object. Lieutenant Kachura steps in to help her as part of his duty. Dmitry Podolsky’s lover, Katya Balashova, also arrives from Moscow. Soon after, Professor Podolsky’s body is found in the forest, but Olga stubbornly insists it is not her father. She continues her search and discovers a witness who claims to have seen her father alive. However, Olga is suddenly arrested for the brutal murder of Balashova. Determined to uncover the truth, Olga seizes an opportunity and escapes custody.
