Description
Stepanda and Petrok Bogatka live on the Yachimovshchina farmstead, three kilometers from the small town of Vyselki. Their son, Fedya, serves in the tank corps, while their daughter, Fenia, is studying to be a doctor in Minsk. Then war breaks out. The front sweeps relentlessly eastward, the Germans arrive. Life descends into a terrifying, unpredictable maelstrom of new horrors.
